Potato and Meatball Bake

Ingredients:

  • 1000 g potatoes
  • 40 g butter
  • Half a bunch fresh parsley
  • To taste salt
  • To taste nutmeg
  • To taste chili
  • 300 g minced beef
  • 2 onions
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • To taste thyme
  • To taste ground sweet paprika
  • To taste chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 300 ml water
  • To taste cheddar cheese

Directions:

  1. Mix minced meat with breadcrumbs, grated onion, and parsley. Add an egg, salt, pepper, thyme, paprika, and chili. Mix well and form into egg-sized balls.
  2. Boil potatoes until soft. Cool, peel, and set three aside. Mash remaining potatoes with butter, parsley, nutmeg, and chili. Form into balls similar in size to meatballs.
  3. Grease a baking dish. Slice remaining three potatoes and line the bottom. Place meat and potato balls alternately on the slices. Bake at 200°C for 20 minutes.
  4. Mix tomato paste, water, and salt together. Grate the cheddar cheese. After 20 minutes, pour the sauce over the dish, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for another 20 minutes.
  5. Serve in portions with a vegetable garnish.
