Delicious Homemade Sugar Cookies

Looking for a simple and sweet treat to brighten your day? These homemade sugar cookies are easy to make and perfect for any occasion. With just a few basic ingredients and a straightforward method, you’ll have a delightful batch ready to enjoy in no time!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups (200 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup (100 ml) vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Granulated sugar for coating

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg, salt, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar until well combined.
  2. Add the vegetable oil to the egg mixture and stir briefly to blend.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet mixture, using a wooden spoon or your hands to form a smooth, elastic dough. If the dough feels too sticky, refrigerate it for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Pour some granulated sugar into a small bowl for coating the cookies.
  7. Take small pieces of dough and roll them into walnut-sized balls. Dip one side of each ball into the sugar and place them sugar side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie.
  8. Using the bottom of a glass or your fingers, gently flatten each ball to about 1 cm thick. For a decorative touch, use a fork to imprint a grid pattern on the surface of each cookie.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or until the edges begin to lightly brown.
  10. Once baked, transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
